Gujarat High Court hears plea to quash charges against Shah Rukh Khan over the death of a man during ‘Raees’ promotion

On Thursday, Gujarat High Court heard a plea to cancel complaints against Shah Rukh Khan over the death of a man during ‘Raees’ promotion. A social worker had filed several complaints against the superstar at the lower court of Vadodara.
A petition was filed in Gujarat High Court to quash complaints against SRK. The plea stated that no offence was made by the actor and the deceased was a heart patient and passed away due to some other reasons.

According to a report in a news portal, the high court has adjourned the matter to hear on February 24. The court has also reportedly asked the complainants that if they agree, Shah Rukh Khan will be asked to apologize.

On January 23, 2017, the superstar rode a train to promote his movie ‘Raees’. A huge crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor. Soon chaos ensued and police had to resort to lathi-charge to control the crowds. It was then that one person reportedly died in the incident.

‘Raees’ also starred Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. The film had received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s ‘Pathan’ co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles. He also has Atlee’s commercial entertainer with Nayanthara and Sanya Malhotra. SRK has also been roped in for Rajkumar Hirani’s immigration drama.
