The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be launching a mega campaign for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttarakhand from February 1. Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states will be holding public rallies across the state from Tuesday, starting with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his Himachal Pradesh counterpart Jairam Thakur addressing rallies with 500 people.
“We have made all the necessary arrangements for physical and virtual meetings as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI). From tomorrow, all our star campaigners will start addressing public rallies either in physical or virtual mode,” a senior party leader was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
Massive LED screens have been installed by BJP across the state for virtual rallies. According to the agency report, 15 LED screens have been set up in each constituency in Uttarakhand to ensure that people are able to view the addresses of BJP leaders in virtual forms.
“LED screens have been installed at around 15 places in each constituency so that people can listen to the virtual address of senior leaders including union ministers,” a party leader told the agency.
